Student Feedback from the Mallorca Residential School
"I really loved the course and the chance for the 'hands-on' experience of collecting astronomical data. However, don't expect it to be a 'star gazing' experience - this is about how telescopes work and how to collect the data. When things go wrong (as they did) it just shows what astronomy is like and the problems and frustrations you encounter with collecting data for any scientific subject. The tutors dig you out of trouble and steer you back on track. Great experience."
"Very good learning experience. Almost essential to an Astronomy degree. Now after using telescopes and data analysis I have an enormous evolvement of skill. Congratulations for running this course and I hope you continue to have success running it in the future." [edited to protect identity]
"I gained a lot of confidence and enjoyed being able to focus on the practical aspects of astronomy. I feel much more equipped than I would have from years of deriving equations. I think I learned a lot and had a great time. It's great that it's not graded, allowing for real life, e.g. rain etc.!"
